Nearly 2 Million Children Now Out Of School In Yemen Children’s Education Devastated After Three Years Of Escalating Conflict


In SANA’A, Yemen, nearly half a million children dropped out of school since the 2015 escalation of conflict in Yemen, bringing the total number of out-of-school children to nearly two million,according to a The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) assessment released on March this year.

Meanwhile, three years of brutal conflict have put the education ofan additional 4.5 milion chlidren at grave risk due to non-payment of salaries for almost three quarters of public school teachers in the country. Many of the teachers have sought other work to survive or are only teaching for few hours.
